A diary of the first ever medical check at the FOUR PAWS Sanctuary LIONSROCK
Day Three:
On the last day of the veterinary check, Jazz the Romanian lion who has been with us for a year, was thoroughly examined. After a dental check, x-rays and blood samples were taken, he was returned to his enclosure and the companionship (albeit at a short distance) of Savannah. Jazz recently lost his long time companion Mavi to cancer.
After the days events, it was time to gather all the records for follow up, and the team discussed the course of action going forward. And then it was time to pack up. Fond farewells to all who had worked so hard to ensure a safe and professional medical check on such a large scale.
Heartfelt thanks to all those who were involved and made this medical check such a success. Amongst them we would like to recognize the Johannesburg Zoo, The Protea Hotel in Clarens, The Bethlehem Animal Hospital, Imagex, the members of the press and media, Symco and all those who supported and sponsored this event.
