FOUR PAWS does not abandon lonely lion in Lebanon
Since the beginning of this war many people have been heavily affected by the situation in Lebanon. The loss of their homes, shortage of nourishment and increasing food prices are problematic. The animals are also suffering under these dramatic conditions.
In the Zoo “Maison Zeder” near Beirut, animal keepers left the area unassisted at the beginning of the war and abandoned the animals. Luckily refugees who found shelter in the zoo and the family of the owner are taking care of the animals, but feed is nevertheless scarce. We were especially moved by the fate of the lion Simba because the meat for him is very expensive. Euthanasia was considered.
FOUR PAWS did not abandon Simba – with our financial support we are securing the life of the lion.
