Forgotten war victims – numerous animals are waiting for help
The disastrous situation in the Middle East is not only bringing harm to the affected population but also to the animals in Lebanon and in Israel. Thousand of animals have been left behind. In particular dogs and cats are straying around ownerless in the destroyed streets or have been abandoned without care by their owners who had been evacuated from their flats and houses.
All these animals may die if they are not rescued as soon as possible. However, the animals in the zoos have to fear for their lives as well because feed is scarce. In many places the animal keepers of the zoos have fled the area.
FOUR PAWS has therefore decided to help in both countries to decrease suffering.
Dozen of cases within war zones have proved how important animals are in overcoming dramatic war experiences. FOUR PAWS is not only making an important contribution from the perspective of animal welfare, but is also helping people who urgently need emotional support, which can be found through their animals.
