Tourism supporters

Visiting ethical destinations are essential in putting an end to the industry which exploits lions for commercial gain. To this end, we’re calling on tour operators and companies in the tourism industry to support our campaign.

Barking Wild is a lifestyle & travel business dedicated to sustainability in the travel trade. By working with a carefully selected group of partners in the safari, conservation, photography & scuba diving industries we ensure that the travel experiences offered to our guests are ethical & memorable. Aside from arranging sustainable travel for our clients, we also run a blog which offers interesting & educational content around conservation & our other core passions, and are currently building an online store full of eco-friendly, local is lekker goodies.

At WorkingAbroad, we don’t accept any volunteer projects with any kind of inappropriate interaction with animals, such as cub petting, elephant riding or hands-on interaction with predators. For most of our wildlife projects, they involve only observing/studying wildlife from a distance, unless absolutely necessary otherwise and the volunteer will be accompanied by trained researchers or staff. We believe that these unethical practices of predator interaction need to end in our industry, and therefore we have taken an active stance.

As a DMC we feel not only responsible but also excited to be able to educate and teach our travellers visiting South Africa. Nordic Travel firmly believes in supporting sustainable and ethical tourism and that wild animals should be left in their natural environment. We do not support any facilities involving cub petting or lion walks. We are proud to stand with Four Paws.

At Fair Voyage, making sure tourism workers are treated with respect and receive fair wages is at the core of our business. We only promote verified socially and environmentally responsible suppliers. Tourism has a large potential to be a force for good on a social, economical and environmental level, so imagine the impact we can have if responsible tourism becomes the norm. If we know that natural environments globally are cared for and host communities are treated well and receive a fair wage. That’s why we’re on a mission to make it easy for travellers to book a sustainable vacation.
