67 Kennels of Hope
FOUR PAWS and Mdzananda Animal Clinic collaborate to bring comfort and dignity to Khayelitsha’s companion animals
In honour of Mandela Day, FOUR PAWS ZA launched the “67 Kennels of Hope” campaign in 2024, which calls on South Africans to move beyond symbolic acts and take real, tangible action to support animals in underserved communities.
In collaboration with Mdzananda Animal Clinic, which serves the Khayelitsha community, 67 responsible pet owners were identified for their commitment to their pets' health, despite facing financial challenges.
With your help, we can provide 67 dogs with the shelter and care they deserve.
Our bundles of hope will include the following:
- A sturdy dog kennel to provide shelter from the cold and rain
- Nutritious food parcels to support health and wellbeing
- Strong, durable collars for pet safety and identification
- Tick and flea treatments to promote long-term health
- An informative FOUR PAWS brochure offering practical tips on responsible pet ownership
Mandela Day 2024
We did it - Thanks to YOU, we've reached our goal. Thanks to your generosity, each dog now has their own kennel and a Bundle of Hope - a cozy blanket, nutritious food, a safe collar, and a tick and flea prevention kit.
Mandela Day 2025
This year, we once again collaborated with the Mdzananda Animal Clinic, and thanks to the generosity of individual donors and corporate partners, we proudly achieved our goal to provide safety, comfort, and dignity to 67 beloved pets in this community.
