Roaming free in the Romanian wilderness

25.7.2025

From 2025 onwards, FOUR PAWS has handed over its equine programmes to the respective authorities in Romania and Jordan. For over a decade, these initiatives have made significant strides in the welfare of Romania’s working horses, semi-feral horses in Danube Delta, and in Jordan’s Petra Park.

The oldest natural reservation in Romania, Letea, in the Danube Delta is 2800 hectares of diverse landscape and habitats where feral horses can live an almost wild existence. FOUR PAWS aids in the veterinary care and population control of the beautiful horses to ensure their longtime welfare.
