Rescue Lionesses Carla and Frida

Two lionesses share a bond forged by fate

Lionesses Carla and Frida share a bond forged by fate. Their stories, speak of survival, compassion, and the enduring nature of sanctuary.

Born in 2005, Lioness Carla was hand-raised by the previous owner, prior to FOUR PAWS' occupation and the establishment of LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary

She was later socialised with Frida who arrived at LIONSROCK on 5 December 2005. Frida, who was privately bought from a Romanian zoo, and was later relocated due to her becoming too big to handle by her owner.

Sadly, in November 2024, Frida had to be euthanised due to a tumor on her mammary gland.
